The Rules

1.   Competition open individual amateur programmers who are aged over 17 or over, by the last entry submission date is the 1 August 2008. Entries from professional programmer/designers or anyone with official connections with the computer gaming industry will not be considered.

2.   Entries must be of original code and not based or copied from any other sources.

3.   ALL copyright must belong to the author (the entrant) of the work.

4.   To enter the competition you must fill in a form that will be sent to you for submitting the work. You will not be entered into the competition until we have received your CD and the form. No photocopies will be accepted. Each entrant must supply a separate form for each game submitted.

5.   The program presentation, instructions, screens shots etc. and must not be more than 650mb in size and all written documents must be written in Work for use on PC. The CD must also have the program that it relates to saved on it.

6.   It is a condition of entry that if picked that you must be available to attend the launch party to be held in 2008 in Liverpool (UK). They will also be obliged to take part in publicity associated with the presentation of any prizes.

7.   Please note, we can not be held responsible for any loss of material sent to us via post. For that reason we insist that you send by registered post to the address on the form we will send to you.

8.   Incomplete or illegible entries or those not made in accordance with the rules of entry are invalid.

9.   Prizes are as stated. No alternative prizes, cash or otherwise, will be available.

10. It is a condition of entry that publicity may be given to any competition winners and/or entrants and that their names and/or photographs may be published in the press.

11.  Ownership and copyright of the game code will remain with the programmer, but It is a condition of entry that if picked a winning game, that the copyright will still remain with the programmer and that the game can be used for other applications, but the Voyager brand systems will be allowed to install and run the game with out royalties or any other payments being requested.

12.  Images of the winning game will be used for promotion of future competitions and also for promotion of the game. It is a condition of entry that if picked as a winning game that the Voyager brand will be allowed to use screen shots of the game to be published to promote the game and the competition, with out royalties or any other payments being requested.

13.  All applications must include a return address and registered postage fully paid packet for the CD (program) if requested to be returned. All none winning programs that do not include a paid packet will be destroyed.

14.  All contact information supplied will be held under the UK Data Protection Act by both PCBT Photography and Retro Arcade Machines Ltd. and connected groups for us of promotion of the game and contacting the applicants in relation to the competition only.

15.  All applications must contain a photo state copy of valid passport if from out side UK.

16. The Promoter reserves the right to amend the rules.

17.  In the event of a discrepancy between these rules and those published, the promoters decision will be final.

18.  Entries must be received before the closing date of 1 August 2008. Any received after will be inadmissible.

19.  No employee of the any of the promoters or associated companies or any company associated with a running of the competition, promotion or any member of their family may enter.

20.   Proof of posting does not provide proof of receipt.  You must use recorded delivery if you require proof.

21.   No purchase/payment is required to enter this competition.

22.   All applicants will be given a logo to display on their web sites and also on their games. This logo is the copyright of the Voyager arcade brand and all rights are reserved. This will allow you to get some PR and show that you have entered the competition.    

23.  ALL games must be programmed in the following:-

The game must run on a Windows XP machine, Pentium 3 733 with 256meg ram. Monitor at 1024 by 728 rez. vertically mounted so the games need to be really portrait games with a rotational setting for landscape. SVGA graphics. The game must use a three button configuration with 4 way and 8 way joystick control. It mist have single and two player options. File Size same as Mame V32, 16K sound only!

24.  Short list will be announced on date listed on Events section on this site. All short listed games will be given a special one off logo that will remain the copyright of the Voyager arcade brand, but will be free to let you use on the web sites you supply your game to and also to be placed on your game for you to demonstrate to possible clients that your game was short listed for this award.

25.  By entering this competition you agree to be bound by its terms and conditions.

26.  The judge’s/promoters decision is FINAL and no correspondence will be entered into.
